What would New Year’s Day be without resolutions?

“A lot less disappointing!”

That’s the spirit, slacker!

At PartyCon, we want to turn your resolutions into success. With that in mind, our guest speakers are developing several sessions geared toward helping imaginative people (and isn’t that pretty much all of us?) achieve their creative goals in 2016. Whether you’re an aspiring author hoping to finally finish that novel, a webcomic artist trying to make it big, or just a fandom newbie who wants to make a costume, this day is for you.

We will have more sessions and more details as we get closer to opening day, but here’s a taste of the session we’ll be offering.

  • Brad Guigar, creator of Evil Inc and the man who literally wrote the book on webcomics, will be presenting ’10 Webcomics Resolutions for 2016.’ For more established creators looking for the funding to launch their project into the big time, he’ll also be doing a ‘Crowdfunding Primer’ panel for using Kickstarter, IndieGoGo and other crowdfunding sources.
  • Mike and Shell ‘Presto’ DiBaggio, co-creators of the Ascension Epoch, will be presenting ‘Common Treasures’, a session about why and how to incorporate material from the Public Domain and the Creative Commons into your story.
  • A joint panel of several independent creators will gather for a session all about self-publishing: how you can do it, why you should do it, problems you’ll run into, and how to avoid them.

If you are a creator looking to turn your dreams into a reality in 2016, you won’t want to miss Do the Thing Day.
